• Assessment Considerations During COVID-19 Related School Disruptions Guidance
  The MN School Psychologist Association has developed guidance on Assessment Considerations During COVID-19 Related School Disruptions. This document includes the disability-specific guidance for OHD listed here.
  Other Health Disability:
  • Obtain as much info as possible from all clinical evaluation for the child’s medical condition and perceptions of educational impact
  • Observations of adaptive functioning can be completed via hybrid learning and interviews with parents/teachers. Refer to observation recommendations in the Observation Sections of the document.
  • Intellectual assessment is not required and should not be completed UNLESS the child’s medical condition is suspected to negatively impact cognitive functioning.
  • Assessment of EF may be an important aspect of this area for students with ADHD, anxiety, etc. See notes in the document regarding rating scales if these are used for assessment of EF.
  • Standardized assessment of academic achievement IS required for initial evaluations where OHD is being considered. Keep in mind that standardized norm-referenced tests of achievement are not validated for tele-assessment in most circumstances (see related appendix in document).
